Nexus 7 Speech-To-Text Demo

Googles tablet, the Nexus 7 is a hit. It features a nice form factor followed by some booming specifications. One feature on Android 4.1 is Speech-To-Text. I will admit this is very accurate voice recognition and is something I used for any text application. Stay tunned for more Nexus 7 coverage!

One problem with this video. The narrator doesn't explain or demonstrate clearly enough how to initiate the speech-to-text feature. I just see the user tap something, and the microphone icon appears. On my Nexus 7, I do not see where or how to do that. This needs to be explained. I'm an old guy in his 50's, and I need to have my hand held through the entire process.

Hi, I don't have the nexus 7, but I'm thinking of getting one. I looked a keyboard screenshot, and found a microphone icon between the Esc and Alt keys. So whenever the keyboard pops up on that device, if you press that microphone button you can start dictating your message. When it's activated it also seems you have to verbally say your punctuation. Like Period, Comma, and Exclamation.
